About Nehru World School

Nehru World School is an English medium co-educational School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.). Established in 1978 the School is amongst the first schools in India to introduce Bio-Technology as a subject at +2 level, the only school in U.P. state to introduce KYB (Know Your Body)- a US based primary programme which enables children to sense right and wrong through exploration and observation, the first school in India to have a completely Multiple Intelligences Enabled Pre-primary Wing, the first Air-Conditioned school in the city, and the first school in the city to collaborate with the Tony Blair Face to Faith Foundation, UK to run a global education Programme. The School provides each student, an international and exciting educational experience empowering every student the confidence to move from an ability level of “I can’t” to “I did”.

The Challenge

Nehru World School had a unique administrative and data need relating to the students. They wanted a custom student dashboard for administrator which should contain all relative information of a particular student on a single view i.e. Student’s personal profile, academic performance from the year of admission to present year, remarks given by different teachers, library information etc..

A Lesson Plan Management too was needed to be designed as per the requirements of the school where a teacher can plan what to teach in a particular class and when to teach a particular topic. A module where teacher can schedule the expected dates for a topic to teach for a particular Class-Section-Subject.

Certain distinctive features were also demanded by the school such as Different Type of Cards and Reports (Library, Fee etc.) with Student’s Enrollment No Bar Code, which could be generated from ERP and could be printed at school itself and bar code can be used to reduce manual typing work & an Automatic synching of Staff Attendance with Substitution Module wherein their biometric system was synced with Applane, which automatically picks attendance and mark substitution.

The Solution

Our Applane Product Specialists designed exactly what was needed by Nehru World School. We compiled all the student information for all academic years in limited time effectively. We analyzed the flow of process, grasped the requirements and after lots of reconsiderations we gradually designed the Lesson Plan Management. We completely customized the module as per their requirements.

We were asked to plan different type of cards (Library Card, Fee Card, Transport Card) with Student’s Enrollment No Bar Code on that, which could be generated from ERP and could be printed at school itself and bar code can be used to reduce manual typing work. We synced their bio-metric system with Applane so that they only need to punch their attendance, rest all process is handled automatically by Applane. They need not to worry about substitutions. Applane automatically does all the work.

Nehru World School planned to automate the student administrative functions through Applane’s highly scalable education ERP Suite, i.e. Applane Education.

Now when a parent comes to the director or the principal, within few second, they are able to debate on that particular student as they have all type of record of that student on a single click.

Now they don’t need any manual work for tracking teacher who are not doing their work on time. All this process is now spontaneous. The administrator now gets time to time report for the teachers delayed in their schedules.

Applane integration resulted to be cost effective to Nehru World School, as now they didn’t had to arrange a vendor for designing and printing different cards. With this facility they are able to take printout at school itself or they now have to pay for printing only and not for the designing part.

An extremely easy and intuitive user interface resulting in a steep learning curve with respect to training the users.
